Tomorrow evening I will be attending the first of a six month mentor group meeting in Toronto.

I am pretty excited about it. My friend Becky and I attended an orientation a few weeks ago. We are completing this journey through a woman’s group called Courageous Living. So far, it has been a pretty good experience.

This past week I have been thinking about my blog and wanting to make the name of it a little shorter, with a better ring to it. So I have come up with Moxy Mommies!

The definition of Moxy is some that has guts, pep, courage, energy and determination!

Today I was talking to another woman my age. She has had trouble meeting a guy that will truly make her happy, and has had her ups and downs with relationships that I think we can all relate to.

So my husband (who has his own internet/software company) has been teaching me a little about blogging and has told e that I shouldn’t be afraid of getting more personal with my stories. So, I decided today to share a little more about our journey.

As you may have read in my “About” section, my husband and I are trying for our own kids, but are also waiting on an adoption to come through from Ethiopia.

Today I was surfing the net and I came across this article written by the author of Secrets of Successful Stay-At-Work Moms. I LOVED IT! I could not help but relate to several of the things that she mentions. Here are some quotes from the book that I related to:

I have to agree with a comment that was made on our blog about the importance of having a date night with your spouse.

I think as children grow, your time with your significant other may seem to dwindle to 5 minutes on the couch or in-between picking up kids from soccer games. You may seem to think just where do I fit that in? Well the truth is you have to make time.

This past week I celebrated my Birthday and it was so great to see all of my friends.

One friend recently had a baby boy just 7 weeks ago! I was totally delighted to have her there. She and her husband came for the dinner part of the celebration (2 hours). They came by themselves and it was the first time they left the baby with their in-laws.

I thought this was a great example of still doing the things you love.
